:: Overview ::

The Training Manager’s main challenge is to ensure that the leading eye care professionals’ sales team is adequately trained to achieve expected sales results. The incumbent will work very closely with the VP National Sales Development on the development of the National Sales’ training strategy. They will also be responsible for developing the training content, delivering training to the sales team and following up to ensure successful training implementation. In addition, since a number of sales support IT systems will have to be modified to reinforce the training requirements, the Training Manager will be responsible for overseeing the enhancement of the system.

:: What You Will Do ::

  • Oversee the development and enhancement of the sales team training program. Key elements include:
  • Acquire and maintain awareness of new products, new technology, competitors’ products and general knowledge of eye care professionals and buying groups;
  • Develop and implement core elements of sales training plan such as territory planning, sales calls planning and building programs to help achieve objectives;
  • Oversee content and curriculum development;
  • Deliver and oversee delivery of training;
  • Proceed to sales team skills assessment/accreditation;
  • Organize training on sales tools such as Sales System Data Base (SSDB), SMART, Customer Relation Management (CRM) and special reports;
  • Ensure training program is delivered effectively to the sales team: this will be done by the Sales Training Manager as well as consultants retained by the company;
  • Plan field work with representatives to identify new opportunities;
  • Interface with other business units to develop best practices;
  • Responsible for sales training evolution;
  • Measure the impact and effectiveness of training.


:: What You Will Bring ::

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Senior position requiring a minimum of five (5) years of sales training management experience with a sales team working in the optical industry or a well developed sales training industry such as pharmaceuticals or consumer packaged goods;
  • Knowledge of sales process, statistics (distribution analysis , market share , etc.), IT systems (Sales/CRM), training theory;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work and train on sales system development IT tools;
  • Proven record for developing and implementing training strategies to attain growth objectives;
  • Demonstrated understanding and utilising sales statistics;
  • Traveling required (up to 30%);
  • Perfectly bilingual - English and French – written and spoken.
