:: Overview ::
The Purchasing Manager provides leadership to Purchasing Agents and Purchasing Assistants, ensuring that assigned team members meet or exceed goals. You will assure timeline compliance, and develop implementation/delivery plans. The successful candidate will give input to senior staff on the performance of assigned staff. In addition, you will train less-experienced staff members. The Manager is responsible for overseeing the team resources, assisting in budget development, career planning for team members, and input into performance appraisals.

:: What You Will Do ::

Provides support including product research, pricing, and sourcing of supplies. Responsible for quotation of prices on company products and services, as well as assisting in proposals.

Responsible for coordination of branch demand for capital expenditures, oversight for the procurement of the products, and communication to senior management on progress of capital expenditures and cash flow.

Ensures appropriate staffing and personnel management through utilization of resources based on the activity of the business unit and making adjustments to duties and responsibilities where necessary.

Coordinates with other departments including sales, accounting, inventory control, and National Asset Manager to ensure smooth flow of products.

Works with corporate finance office for inventory reconciliation and appropriate general ledger adjustments for capital expenditures and expensed products.

Maintains knowledge of industry trends and products to provide professional insight.

Develops and implements new processes and procedures to improve efficiency.
-
Maintains contact with other departments to ensure processes are working smoothly.

Other duties as assigned.
:: What You Will Bring ::

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field an asset;
-
Certified Professional Purchaser (C.P.P.) designation (an asset);

Industry experience preferred;

Experience in interfacing with senior level executives, clients, and suppliers;

Excellent administrative and organizational skills;

Tact and excellent communication skills;

People management skills;

Ability to manage a budget;

Must be customer satisfaction oriented;

Bilingual (written & oral) in English and French.
