This hired candidate previously worked as a Store Manager, an Office Coordinator, and an International Purchasing Coordinator for companies in the Retail and Fashion industries. She also completed a Business Administration program at a Canadian college and is fluent in English, French and Czech.


 
:: Overview ::

The ideal candidate will be a creative, business-oriented individual with strong relationship building capabilities. This person will be required to work with both the sales and design and development departments to manage the key accounts and follow through from order to delivery.

Our client, an established Quebec-based company with many national customers, is a specialist in the footwear industry. They develop a wide range of private brands. They are recognized as a leader by their customers and have won many awards as top suppliers in their field.


:: What You Will Do ::

  • Responsible for sourcing strategies and procurement for the entire company;
  • Lead a small team of buyers;
  • Manage customers’ orders and verify the information to prepare purchase vouchers for the accounts;
  • Negotiate costing, pricing and scheduling in Southeast Asia;
  • On the production side, responsible for all the elements necessary for the production and processing of the orders in Southeast Asia (materials, boxes);
  • Responsible for inspecting all materials to ensure excellent product quality;
  • Follow-up to ensure on-schedule product delivery.


:: What You Will Bring ::

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a buying capacity;
  • Experience in the footwear industry;
  • Experience dealing with, and traveling to China as well as other countries to source factories;
  • Strong business sense;
  • Proven negotiation skills;
  • Bilingual (French and English);
  • Strong creativity;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to travel to Southeast Asia 2 – 3 times a year.
