Our search consultants are committed to establishing a respectful, ethical and professional relationship with you. To this end, we follow the professional standards as outlined in this document, the Candidate Charter.

Confidentiality

Our consultants respect your privacy, particularly with respect to your current employer. To protect your confidentiality, our consultants:

  • Never discuss your circumstances outside of the company
  • Never contact your references without your permission
  • Always obtain your permission prior to using your name in discussions with or in writing to a client
  • Clarify how you prefer to be contacted, for discretion

Your contact and other information are often stored in a database system so that you may be contacted for future opportunities. At any time, you may request to have this information removed from the database.

Disclosure of Information

Just as our consultants respect your privacy, so do they respect the privacy of their clients. Thus, confidential information about the client and/ or position cannot be disclosed during the early stages of a search. Position requirements, remuneration, and general information about the client company will be provided up front. You can expect to receive more information throughout the search if you become a legitimate contender. Understand that it is your responsibility to respect any confidential information you receive, and must not compromise the privacy of the client.

The Interview

The selection process will be outlined for you, including the timetable and associated deadlines. Contact your consultant with any questions you may have about the process and timetable. Expect your consultant to be in regular contact with you throughout the process to report on the progress of the search.

The Hiring Decision

Our consultants are skilled in handling sensitive issues involved in the job offer process, such as matters of negotiating the terms and conditions. You may wish to deal with these issues yourself, or opt to have your consultant act on your behalf.

Our consultants recognize the importance of maintaining strong relationships. Thus, even if you are not selected for the position, you may be contacted for future opportunities or as a resource for other assignments.

Your Role

The following guidelines indicate how you can facilitate the search process:

  • Do not misrepresent yourself on your resume
  • Indicate your interest in the position or lack thereof openly, and as early as possible
  • Research the client organization when possible
  • Be as flexible and accommodating as possible regarding the interview schedule
  • Be patient and recognize that you are not the only candidate being considered, nor is this assignment the only one being conducted by your consultant
  • Tell your consultant if you are considering other offers
  • Honesty is always the best policy
