:: Overview ::

Reporting to the Executive Director and the Marketing Director, this role requires an energetic, motivated leader with experience in sales and marketing and knowledge of the surrounding communities. He/she will create, maintain and facilitate interest in prospective residency by communicating, highlighting, and promoting the programs, services, features and benefits of the independent living and assisted living offerings within the rental package as directed.

:: What You Will Do ::

  • Drawing on your extraordinary customer service and sales training, the responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Create a professional, hospitable, and informative environment for all telephone, walk in, and tour inquiries researching prospective residency;
  • When engaged to perform rental liaison activities, co-ordinate the activities of leisure jointly with no disruption to the current resident family;
  • Perform communication on the properties assets using the prescribed scripts provided and ensure customer needs assessments is completed upon first contact;
  • Model the prescribed recipe for ensuring optimal lease up potential, and ask for referral process for lease ups, seed planning, team and volunteer recruitment;
  • Document all correspondence with any prospect;
  • Prepare a monthly plan for marketing the retirement residence in conjunction with the programs, events and activities prescribed by the Marketing Director;
  • Provide the Executive Director and the Marketing Director with a month-end report of all sales and marketing activities;
  • Prepare weekly and monthly census, occupancy, and forecasting reporting as required;
  • Submit a monthly budget to the Executive Director for marketing activities and maintain financial records on a monthly basis;
  • Maintain all required inventories of sales and marketing collateral and materials and on hand comprehensive packages for inquiries;
  • Follow the prescribed process for documentation and accountability of inquiry;
  • Create, establish and maintain effective reporting and tracking systems of inquiries while off property to ensure prospective leads are documented;
  • Assist the Executive Director with the activities as prescribed in the orientation and admission checklist and co-coordinate these activities with the management team;
  • When directed by the Executive Director, attend offsite activities of sales and marketing and perform public speaking events;
  • Seek out opportunities for resident, team, volunteer, and advocacy partners in the community, and report all suggestions to the Executive Director for direction;
  • Ensure the Executive Director is aware and approves all activities of the role performed on behalf of the company outside in the community;
  • Confirm acceptance of the standards as identified in the management team member code of conduct;
  • Manage and direct activities of sales and marketing within the residence to ensure optimal enjoyment for the resident and community relations to guests of the resident and visitors;
  • Will be required to work some evenings and weekends;
  • Must be available to adjust work schedule to accommodate residents’ needs;
  • Our facility celebrates all traditional holidays and Canadian events and as such we host our residents and market to our community to keep the house full;
  • Some travel is required to attend off-site activities.


:: What You Will Bring ::

  • University degree or college diploma in business administration or in a related field with a specialization in sales or marketing and several years of experience as a sales or marketing representative or in a related occupation;
  • First Aid Level 1/Class “F” DL is an asset;
  • Team player with demonstrated customer service orientation;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Excellent time management, planning, organizational and multitasking skills;
  • Objective, sound judgment and ability to handle confidential and sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong in written copy and creative copy; needs to be error free and excellent writer;
  • Creative abilities; able to design campaigns and advertising material would be an asset;
  • Ability to perform public speaking;
  • Ability to keep all business and operations information confidential;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
