:: Overview ::
This represents a unique opportunity to broaden your experience in a beautiful environment! Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Finance, the position of Financial Officer comprises all the duties related to the realization of the various financial activities of the School Board, assistance to the management staff of the administrative units and, in terms of financial management, the supervision and the realization of various special projects. Works in various sectors or from various aspects of financial management, especially, among others, budgetary and financial forecasts and controls, internal audit, and the preparation of financial reports. Works directly with the Administrative Senior Officer - Finance.

Our Client is a school board with a substantial budget, providing services to over 3,600 students at the primary, secondary and post secondary levels.
:: What You Will Do ::

Collaborate, analyze, evaluate and apply the professional techniques related to the accounting operations, financial as well statistical.

Proceed in the analysis of the revenue and expenses accounts and prepare reports; gather and analyze the budgetary demands, participate in the establishment and revision of the annual budget and propose recommendations if necessary.

Apply norms applicable to the Public Sector; project the operation costs; control budget and accounting transactions; budgetary follow up during the year and prepare reports.

Prepare and supervise accounting entries, verify conformity; responsible for the verification of the accounts payable and accounts receivables.

Collaborate in the preparation of various interim financial reports and annual reports and analyze them.

Create and develop working tools, as well as planning and budgetary control tools or reporting to be used by personnel; prepare and lead information sessions and internal training sessions.

Participate in analyzing application of policies governing healthy financial administration practices by means of tight tracking of financial transactions.

Participate in the development and realization of special projects and action plans of the department of Finance.

Collaborate in the elaboration of a recommended training plan offered to the Finance employees, as well as to other services if applicable.

All other related duties and responsibilities assigned to this position by the Administrative Senior Officer - Finance.
:: What You Will Bring ::

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (BBA), specialization in Professional Accounting.

Professional accounting title is an asset (CA, CMA or CGA).

At least one (1) year of relevant experience.
