:: Overview ::
Our client is looking for an experienced Plant Manager within the Kitchener, Cambridge, Brantford region. Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of manufacturing operations within the plant, as well as related supported functions. This role requires a dedicated and proven leader able to work closely with all business functions.

:: What You Will Do ::

Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing operations to maximize return on assets.

Execute plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.

Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations.

Ensure all health and safety requirements are met at all times.
-
Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports corporate strategic initiatives.

Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need. Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving.

Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes. Ensure schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies.

Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume.

Assure that plant and corporate policies are effectively administered and that employee issues are addressed in a timely fashion.

Work to establish LEAN manufacturing practices throughout the plant involving all employees.

Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas through a rigorous 5S program.

Maintain individual skills keeping up to date with latest production and production management concepts.
:: What You Will Bring ::
-
Post secondary degree preferably in an engineering or technical field.
-
8-10 years experience in manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 years senior management experience.
-
High energy level required.
-
Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential.

Driver of LEAN manufacturing principles.

Ability to attend and conduct meetings.
